Business Profile Setup
Get your business on Google Maps, set up properly and in your own name
If your business does not show on Google Maps yet, we create your Google Business Profile with you on a video call, in your own Google account: the right categories, your address or service area, opening hours, phone number, website, a description, your services and your photographs. Then we take you through Google’s verification, so the profile can appear on Google Search and Google Maps. £49, one-off.
Why it is done with you, in your own Google account
Google lets only the business itself verify a profile. Google asks owners not to share the verification code with anyone, even the people who manage the profile, and a live video call has to be made from your premises (Google’s guide to verification).
So the profile is created in your Google account, you are its owner, and we work alongside you on the call. Once Google has verified it, you can add us as a manager to finish the details (how to give access), and remove us at any time.
What is included
-
A check before anything is created
That your business can have a profile under Google’s rules (premises that customers visit, or a business that travels to its customers), and that no profile already exists for it. If one does, we help you claim it instead of creating a second one.
-
Created with you, in your Google account
Your business name as it appears on your shopfront, website and stationery, your main and additional categories, your address or the area you serve, opening hours, phone number and website.
-
Written for you
A description of your business, and your services or products listed, in words your customers would search for.
-
Your photographs
Your logo, a cover photograph and a few photographs you own of your premises, your team or your work.
-
Verification started on the call
Google chooses how your business is verified: by phone or text, email, a short video recording, a live video call or a postcard. We explain what the method needs and stay with you through the steps you can do on the call.
-
A check once Google has verified it
Your profile found on Google Search and Google Maps by its name, any detail Google changed put right, and a one-page record of everything on the profile.
What you need
- A business that customers visit at your premises, or that travels to its customers. A rented postal address that the business does not work from is not eligible (Google’s rules).
- A Google account to own the profile. If you do not have one for the business, we create it with you on the call.
- Your business phone and email to hand, and, if Google asks for a video, your premises, your signage and something that shows the business is yours.
- Your logo and a few photographs you own.
Not included: Google Ads, a promoted pin on Google Maps, reviews, Business Profile posts and ongoing management. Google decides where your profile appears in its results: it bases local results on relevance, distance and prominence, and there is no way to pay for a better position (Google’s explanation).
How it works
-
A free 20-minute call, if you want one
We check that your business can have a profile and that none exists for it already.
-
Payment and a time for the set-up call
You pay the one-off £49 and choose a time for the set-up call within the next two weeks.
-
The set-up call, about 45 minutes
On a video call, with your screen shared, your profile is created, filled in and photographed, and Google’s verification is started.
-
Verification, then the check
Google sets how long verification takes: its reviews can take up to five working days, and a postcard usually arrives within 14 days. Once your profile is verified, we check it on Google Search and Google Maps and send you the one-page record.

Questions
How long until my business shows on Google Maps?
Once Google has verified it. Google sets the method and the time: its reviews can take up to five working days, sometimes longer, and a postcard usually arrives within 14 days (Google’s guide).
What if Google will not verify my business?
If Google declines to verify your business after trying the methods it offers, we refund the £49 in full.
There is already a profile for my business, but I cannot get into it.
Then we help you claim it, or ask its current owner for ownership through Google, instead of creating a second profile. Google sets how long the owner has to reply.
Will my business appear at the top of Google Maps?
We cannot promise a position. Google bases local results on relevance, distance and prominence, and no one can pay for a better place in them. A complete, accurate profile with the right categories is what you can control, and that is what this setup does.
Do you need to come to my premises?
No. Everything is done on a video call. If Google asks for a live video call or a video recording, you make it from your premises, and we tell you beforehand what to show.
What comes next?
Nothing, if you only want to be on Google Maps. If you later want a promoted pin on the map and adverts that show your address, that is Local Maps Setup.
